Termite or Ant |

Winged termites are usually, but not always smaller, about 1/4" in length. They appear to be cigar shaped and have one body segment, straight antennae, and two pairs of equally long wings. Ants have three body segments with a narrow waist, elbowed antennae and a longer pair of front wings. Termites invade structures of all
ages, old and new. The queen can produce thousands of larvae, and colonies
can number in the millions. They live as deep as 20 feet underground, but
prefer the warmth, moisture and food
Visible signs of infestation by
termites and wood destroying insects include mud tubes along foundation
walls, blistered or wavy wood, sawdust-looking residue next to beams or
studs, and sagging floors. By the time these signs are visible, extensive
wood damage may have already occurred, since termites eat the wood from
the inside out, and their damage can go undetected for years. According to
the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, termites cause more than $1 billion in
damage ever year throughout the United States. Don't let termites eat a
hole in your home OR your pocket
